The Dallas Travel Coupon Guide

Dallas is the third largest city in the state of Texas. Take into account the entire Dallas / Fort Worth metropolitan area and this is the fourth largest metropolitan area in the United States. This whole metropolitan area is divided into many smaller areas, making it very diverse in culture and influence. Booking a Dallas vacation? Here are some tips for finding coupons and additional discounts on your vacation.

Where to Start – Start with the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau. You will find a lot of good information on travel, where to stay, and attractions in Dallas. Check out the featured specials which are listed under accommodations. You’ll find a lot of great deals on vacation packages, which include hotel plus tickets to area attractions. Take advantage of these offers to lay the groundwork for your Dallas vacation.

Coupon Books – Get a copy of the Dallas Entertainment Book. This is the biggest and most popular of the coupon books. You pay one small price, usually around $35, but inside are tons of coupons for area attractions, dining, accommodations, and entertainment. In total is about $19,000 worth of discounts. You should also be able to find coupon codes to use towards the purchase of the Dallas Entertainment Book for even more savings. Another popular coupon book is the Enjoy the City Coupon Book for Dallas. This is slightly cheaper than the Entertainment Book and has a few different offers.

DART Discounts – If you are visiting Dallas (or even if you are a local), take advantage of the offers from DART. The Dallas Area Rapid Transit has a lot of partnerships with local businesses and attractions so if you ride the public transportation, hold onto your ticket stub. Present it at the time of ticket purchase to an area attraction and you can save even more money. You can check their website for current discounts offered with the DART ticket stub.

AAA Discounts – If you are a AAA member, be sure to have your AAA membership card with you. There are a lot of area attractions and accommodations in Dallas that offer a discount for AAA members. Check with AAA ahead of time though because some of the discounts require that you purchase your tickets directly through AAA in order to get the discount while others will give you the discount at the ticket window.

eBay Discounts – For some of the bigger attractions like Six Flags or Hurricane Harbor, check eBay for unused tickets and coupons. A lot of sellers will post these on eBay and you are lucky, you can really snag a great deal. You just have to be careful when bidding though. Make sure that you are purchasing from a reputable seller because some people will try and sell you a fake.

Vacation Packages – Besides the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau, you can also check with Southwest Airlines for discounts on vacation packages to Dallas. The city is a major hub for Southwest so they bring in a lot of flights as well as discounts for vacation packages. These require a promotion code in order to activate the discount. The best discounts for hotel + attraction tickets is actually through the Dallas area hotels themselves. Usually these require a 2 night minimum stay in order to get the discounts or free tickets.
